I am Right and Everyone Needs to Know That

Don’t Waste Your Time

I was sent a video today which caused me to think. This life is too short for you to get so worked up about the small little annoyances we deal with. Traffic, work politics, neighbor’s barking dog, bleeding heart liberals, corporate raiders, loggers or environmentalists - your time on this Earth is wasted when you [...]

Family Rocket Launches

This evening we launched rockets with Andrew. This was the concluding requirement for Andrew to build and launch model rockets for the Space Exploration merit badge that he started at Goshen Scout Camp earlier this month.

Occurred Thought: Could We Survive?

Tonight while watching The Universe on the History Channel ‘Death Stars’ there was presented a scenario that a rogue star’s gravitation could dislodge the Earth from its orbit around the sun.
The thought then occurred to me - could the earth, without its source of energy from the sun self-generate enough energy to sustain life? Why [...]

Twitter: I Just Don’t Get It

It has got to be the technology statement of 2009: ” Twitter, I just don’t get it”. This is ok, this statement really means that the only thing you can do is to tweet (verb for someone using Twitter) about your poached egg sitting on the breakfast table. If this is all you think [...]

Why So Quiet?

Many of the subscribers in this blog have asked why it has been so quiet lately. True, for several weeks I have not blogged as regularly - mini apologies. The reason is quiet simple - I continue to contribute to the internet (even more often now) using a technology called Twitter. If you don’t know [...]

Why Facebook is for Old Fogies

Facebook is five. Maybe you didn’t get it in your news feed, but it was in February 2004 that Harvard student Mark Zuckerberg, along with some classmates, launched the social network that ate the world. Did he realize back then in his dorm that he was witnessing merely the larval stage of his creation? For [...]

Strength - Futuristic

In the ongoing series of strengths this week’s topic is the characteristic of Futuristic. Tom Rath in his book Strength Finders 2.0 describes the traits a person who is inclined toward future-thinking as one who looks beyond the current conditions.
The future is fantastic to this person; projected as though on a wall the possibilities, details [...]

IDEA: Mass Involvement - CDP

While reading the news the other day I considered the attempts that the US President is trying to do to involve citizens in solutions to the nation’s problems. Thinking social-network / democracy / collective wisdom I formed an idea I call a Community Democracy Platform (CDP). The CDP would be a web-based system used to [...]
